Late reg times
Hi,
I think the highstakes games with small guarantee should have smaller late reg time. The 5k with 100k guarantee for example. It's difficult to keep running for 5 hrs and this is also too advantagous for max late reggers / punishing for the players who try to keep the game going or start it icm wise I think. Maximum 3 hrs late reg would be good I think, maybe slighly under it. 205 minutes for 20-30 player 1k is also too long imo. Also think it would be better if the non final step sattelites are a bit faster structured, 40-60 minutes late reg instead of 1hr 45 for example.

@Miezekatze
Thanks for your feedback on late registration times. As a new site that has dived into the deep end with high stakes tournaments and relatively big guarantees, we have opted for long late registration times in order to facilitate more entries. Your opinion on high-stakes tourney mechanics is certainly of great interest to us, and while I can't promise we'll change in the near-term, I can promise that your feedback will be seriously discussed internally.

My response here is similar to above, but this might be more actionable in the near-term. We will discuss internally and consider changing it up.
Your feedback and play is appreciated... cheers!

Thank you for your reply. I understand what you are coming from and I think it's sensible to have registration times on the longer side to facilitate more entries.
I would like to elaborate a bit on the downside when it's a 15-30 player guarantee/mtt however. Also in highstakes or maybe even especially, because more regulars understand registration dynamics. Hopefully it could be added to the internal discussion.
The issue lies in the amplification of 1-2 early/mid registration negative factors for average players due to short handed * play. -- The ICM disadvantage for early-mid entries shorthanded is bigger because people stack each other more often shorthanded, very often stacks from early-mid entries will end up at one/two players, ICM-wise this is bad for those early-mid entries and beneficial for max late reggers. Next to that, will a small negative edge be amplified short handed as well. For the best player it will work out I think, but to succesfully run those events the early/mid stage entries from average players need to be more okay as well I think. With the short handed play it just gets too bad then, for more average players to enter early-mid stage I think when it's so long, when it's less long it's still not ideal for them but it would make it much more okay. It's also not that nice that it mostly goes to the benefit of players that only fire a max late reg bullet to exploit this ICM dynamic, on average at the cost of the players who try to start the game and keep it going.
There is certainly room for late reg but I think for 20 player field 2.5 hours is pushing it already. When the fields are bigger and the play will not be short handed anymore all the time it would allow for a big longer late reg I think, but rather also not too extreme still in my opinion.
I worry that the daily 5k will be dificult to get and keep going, but I still think making the late reg a bit faster in those 20-30 player 5ks would be good. It's appreciated that the daily 1k late reg time got shorter already.
* Having started the daily 1k and 5k most of the time we only had like 4 players playing when late reg was still open. (Most of the days not even the minimum amount of 4 players to start.)

This post is excellent feedback, and I appreciate you going into detail. It will absolutely be added to the internal discussion. Thank you.
